HOLY SHI....

Lots of things have been happening lately, foremost of which is that I'm leaving for Chuuk--tomorrow. Seriously. Check this, yesterday at 3pm, I was telling Jo (my friend who was volunteering in Pohnpei and is spending the summer in Woleai) that the state ship was so delayed and the patrol boat not going to Woleai so that I wouldn't be able to see her, that I'd just be going straight to Chuuk. IMMEDIATELY after finishing my talk with her, a guy at the Dept. of Education (where I made the radio call) tells me that the patrol boat is going on to Houk after dropping the body it's transporting in Lamotrek. "You should be on the boat," he tells me. So I hustle back to the Peace Corps Office to find my boss and talk with her. She tells me the boat will also be stopping in Woleai to pick some people up and I can use that opportunity to go to Falalop, say goodbye to my family, see Jo and get my stuff. So within the half hour after telling Jo I would no way be able to see her, I find out I'm doing exactly that and that I'll be in Houk within a week. Wow. It's kind of a whirlwind, but a good one.

SO, I'm in the throws of last minute prep and trying to make sure my mom and pops know why I'll soon be falling completely out of contact with them. Fortunately, I have just a few things to buy for my host families a couple people to see here and an iPod to round up before leaving tomorrow (I lent it to a kid at the soccer camp I was helping at last week--yes, I've already been told that wasn't a great idea and more on recent activities later). Anyhow, it's time I was off to get things put together. Take 'er easy!
