4/18/11 My favorite Micronesian dishes:

1) Bananas stewed in coconut milk-- uur aarong
2) Pounded taro chunks fried in oil-- bulage cookies
3) Reef fish stewed in coconut milk w/rice -- iik gatchiu me riice
4) Breadfruit/banana chips fried in oil/baked -- saibuk/uur fry
5) Boiled swamp taro or sweet taro -- bula garee opt
6) Tuna sashimi in local vinegar -- sasimi
7) Tuna boiled in coconut milk -- iik arong
8) Fish and cancon (local cabbage) pan fried w/rice -- iige, cancon, me perase
9) Pancakes Falalus (skinny style)
10) Boiled taro pounded and covered in chunky coconut milk -- bulage yaroong
11) Sea turtle BBQ (local chicken good too) -- woonge/oong (maluk)
12) Octopus cooked in soy sauce or catsup -- giuse
13) Sweetened banana cake -- ?
14) Grilled igaput (men's fish) w/whatever at men's house -- igaput gabeshi
15) Lewechipy's big, thick pancakes
16) Double coconut cream, pounded breadfruit -- rocket
